ABOUT DEBI
Debi is based on the South Coast of England and has been singing professionally for over 25 years.
She is an experienced care home entertainer providing an uplifting and interactive hour where residents can get involved with sing a longs, percussion instruments and lots of fun!
Debi has recently completed a Singing for the Brain course to provide a therapeutic singing experience for people living with Dementia and their families and carers. She is also a Dementia friend and is a strong believer in the benefits of music to enhance the lives of people living with this challenging condition.
Debi has a wealth of experience and started her career in Switzerland as lead vocalist for a rock band performing at many Jazz and Music festivals. She has also been involved in a Rock Opera working with a group of six vocalists harmonising and singing in French performing to a large theatre and recording an album.
Another project was being part of a thirteen piece jazz funk band singing jazz standards and more contemporary jazz styles playing to equally large theatre venues. Back in England Debi has sung in function bands performing in many hotels and clubs, mainly in a duo or trio format but also as a solo act. Debi has a passion for singing and is able to sing a wide range of genres including jazz, MOR, disco, ballads, show tunes etc. and enjoy nothing more than to sing and entertain to get the crowd going!
Apart from singing for wellbeing Debi is a qualified Seniors fitness instructor and enjoys leading classes to over sixties in order to maintain fitness and mobility in able to maintain independence for as long as possible.
